SEDBERGH
Sedbergh stands at the foot of the Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sedbergh is England’s official book town offering a huge variety of books from cheap reads to collectables. Sedbergh is an attractive Old Market town with weekly markets been held on a Wednesday as well as an Artisan Market which is held one Saturday a month through summer giving small farmers, cooks, crafters and artists an opportunity to display their products and produce. Sedbergh is home to a number of independent shops including an award-winning butcher and a well-stocked greengrocer.

Sedbergh is just 4 miles from Cautley Spout; England’s highest (cascade) water fall above ground. A paradise for walkers, runners and cyclists alike and great for exploring the towns and villages of the Yorkshire Dales & Lake District. There are also 3 golf courses nearby.

FAIRFIELD MILL
This former Victorian Mill was restored by locals and has exhibitions explaining the processes involved in a textile mill as well as studios show casing local artist & makers work. There’s also a café serving light bites & lunches.

Sedbergh Holiday Cottages are perfectly placed in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Making them a great base to explore the numerous delightful villages and towns the area has to offer as well as the numerous walks and cycle routes. The Lake District is only a 40-minute drive away with its impressive mountains, open fells and clear water lakes, with many exhilarating water sports and gentle cruises on offer.

KIRKBY LONSDALE 10 miles
A busy Market town with local shops and many sights to uncover such as Ruskin’s view. A few miles beyond is Ingleton with its famous waterfalls walk & caves to explore.

On the famous Settle – Carlisle railway, offering one of the most scenic railway journeys.

DENT & DENTDALE 7 miles
A delightful valley of rolling hills and dry-stone walls with the quaint village of Dent in the centre with Cobbled streets. Dent was the birthplace of Geologist Adam Sedgwick and once home to the famous ‘Terrible Knitters’. 5 miles outside the village is England’s highest main line station – Dent Station on the iconic Settle-Carlisle line.

KILLINGTON LAKE 7 Miles
Killington lake is a 37-acre lake surrounded by beautiful countryside, well known for its good Pike fishing there are also shoals of Roach Brown Trout Perch and Bream making it ideal for visiting anglers. Day or season tickets can be purchased from the Lock Keepers Cottage on the shore of the Last just past the boat house or from Kendal Sports and Carson’s Fishing Tackle Shop, Kendal.

Based at Killington Lake offer a range of iconic trips in and around the Sedbergh area for individuals and groups. Depending on level starting at beginner they offer a range of packages including flat water sea Kayaking, white water river touring and Canoe experiences.
